Baby Feeding Products
Studies have revealed that Bisphenol A (BPA), used in hard and clear plastic called polycarbonate and in the epoxy resin coatings that line canned food, can leach into the contents of a container. A study by the Harvard School of Public Health found that subjects who drank liquids from plastic bottles containing BPA had a 69% increase in the BPA in their urine, reported SFGate.
According to the website, Canada, Minnesota and few other cities and countries have already banned the substance. Wal-Mart and CVS removed BPA products designed for young children from their shelves. Few of the baby bottle manufacturers in the US agreed not to use the chemical.
Last year, the US Food and Drug Administration stated that there was not enough data to support a ban on BPA in food packaging, especially in baby bottles. However, the government organization is reviewing it again and would come up with some decision soon.
